Week 26 – The Only Activity 2 of 4

“Cause and effect is as absolute and undeviating in the hidden realm of thought as in the world of visible and material things. Mind is the master weaver, both of the interior garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance.”

–James Allen

Patient reader, thank you for being here, please prepare for the second chapter of this deeper exploration through the Master Key System by Charles Haanel. Following the first chapter, where we discussed the now scientifically provable existence of a universal substance attributed with all Mother Nature’s presence and power. Science calls it the vacuum and it has been proven that 99.9999% of every atom that builds up every molecule that compose our bodies, as well as what we see and feel around us, and all the things we know as the real world, is totally and completely empty. Science has also found that the potential energy contained inside one cubic centimetre of vacuum, mathematically is the same as there is in the whole known universe, pointing some to think that there lies the equation itself in the physical world, the vacuum is the infinite balancing responsible, is loaded with infinite power and can be mathematically seen to be infinitely present. We read about this substance being called the Universal Mind and we learned that it possesses many qualities, such as Omniscience, Omnipotence and Omnipresence, that it runs through us, actually it runs us, and we can run it too, somehow. We learned that we are connected with it, its highly sensible and we can affect it, extracting from it our desired visions. We are as equal as Raphael or Phidias when sculpting this invisible precious material. Lets discuss and revise in this delivery which could be the activity or work this Universal Mind enveloping All There Is (including us, humans on Earth!) can have required to produce a result. Asking ourselves questions like, if there is a substance that unifies everything, what can we do to unify it? How does chiseling this substance looks like? Can we acquire a higher level of conscience by acknowledging that there is such a material as the Universal Mind, and can we acquire yet another level by realizing what the work is like to give form to this most valuable substance? Lets explore and reflect a little deeper, of course your comments and insights are gratefully welcomed, dear reader.

On Lesson 1 we found the most impactful revelations, really astonishing how synthetic and condensed Haanel is in this one. In 01-29 he writes that Mind itself, is believed to be a subtle form of static energy, from which comes the activities called thoughts, which are the dynamic fase of Mind. The Mind is static energy, thought is dynamic energy – two phases of the same thing. Thought is thereby the vibrant force formed by the conversion of static mind into dynamic mind.

So we are talking about a force that vibrates, that resonates, we somehow can tune ourselves to the Mind using our thinking power.

Thought and attitude towards life pretty much govern the quality of sculpture we obtain from the process. And it is a perfect correlation between the three. We can feel these sensations in our physicality through our nervous system, and our solar plexus becomes a point of singularity that glows with its own energy when we get into possession of a good hand at carving out our outcomes. If we could compare the human body to an electric device, it would be like an antenna, for the Universal Mind, the nervous system would be the wiring through which the signal is transported. The human brain being the most valuable part of the system, and expressing a direct link with the heart inside the solar plexus to complete a full signal reception. Even our delicate skin is a sensory transmitter device.

In 01-26 we learn that our consciousness is the same as Universal Consciousness, or, in other words, every mind is one mind. There is no way to avoid this conclusion. 01-27 Each individual is not but the individualization of Universal Cosmic Mind. it can be manifested only through a person and viceversa, because they are one and the same.

Omnipotence, Omniscience and Omnipresence are potentially here with us, achieved by our will to think correctly. Because at the end, we’re faced with the materialization of our thought. That’s the Law.

So every thought sets in motion infinite power, potentially tapping into every atom in existence to express the desired conditions. The mental processes allow us to tap into Universal Mind because they are the only activity the Mind posses.

The Mind wishes to express life and life is what we see all around.

There’s two parts to our thoughts. The conscious and the subconscious ones. The first ones are the part in which we have total control, even when we are unaware of this control. The latter ones are the ones communicating more directly with Universal Mind. So if the Mind is creative, we are also creative. (02-27) “…the subconscious is a part of the Universal Mind and a part must be the same in kind and quality as the whole; the only difference is one of degree.”

02-03 “…ultimate analysis of thought processes shows that the subconscious is the theatre of the most important mental phenomena.”

02-07 “The value of the subconscious is enormous; it inspires us; it warns us; it furnishes us with names, facts and scenes from the storehouse of memory. It directs our thought, tastes and accomplishes tasks so intricate that no conscious mind, even if it had the power, has the capacity for.”

02-23. “The subconscious mind cannot argue controversially. Hence, if it has accepted wrong suggestions, the sure method of overcoming them is by the use of a strong counter suggestion, frequently repeated, which the mind must accept, thus eventually forming new and healthy habits of thought and life, for the subconscious mind is the seat of Habit. That which we do over and over becomes mechanical; it is no longer an act of judgment, but has worn its deep grooves in the subconscious mind. This is favorable for us if the habit be wholesome and right. If it be harmful, and wrong, the remedy is to recognize the omnipotence of the subconscious mind and suggest present actual freedom. The subconscious being creative and one with our divine source will at once create the freedom suggested.”

02-28. “But we shall find that there is a vast difference between simply thinking, and directing our thought consciously, systematically and constructively; when we do this we place our mind in harmony with the Universal Mind, we come in tune with the Infinite, we set in operation the mightiest force in existence, the creative power of the Universal Mind. This, as everything else, is governed by natural law, and this law is the “Law of Attraction,” which is that Mind is creative, and will automatically correlate with its object and bring it into manifestation.”

03-14. “Non-resistant thought expands the Solar Plexus; resistant thought contracts it. Pleasant thought expands it; unpleasant thought contracts it. Thoughts of courage, power, confidence and hope all produce a corresponding state.”

04-25. “Thought is a mode of motion and is carried by the law of vibration the same as light or electricity. It is given vitality by the emotions through the law of love; it takes form and expression by the law of growth; it is a product of the spiritual “I”, hence its Divine, spiritual, and creative nature.”

04-26. “From this it is evident that in order to express power, abundance or any other constructive purpose, the emotions must be called upon to give feeling to the thought so that it will take form. How may this purpose be accomplished? This is the vital point; how may we develop the faith, the courage, the feeling, which will result in accomplishment?”

05-02. “The subconscious can and will solve any problem for us if we know how to direct it. The subconscious processes are always at work; the only question is, are we to be simply passive recipients of this activity, or are we to consciously direct the work? Shall we have a vision of the destination to be reached, the dangers to be avoided, or shall we simply drift?”

Let’s not forget as well that our subconscious mind has been influenced, formed and contaminated by other people’s ideas, beliefs, prejudices and habits, and 05-06 “…nearly all of it has been accepted with little or no examination or consideration.” So no wonder so many feel they’re not in control. They are not doing the thinking, they are just running the same borrowed programs as always.

On the other hand, if we embrace 05-11 “…nothing but courageous thought, if we have been optimistic, positive, and have immediately thrown any kind of negative thought on the scrap pile, have refused to have anything to do with it, have refused to associate with it or become identified with it in any way, what then is the result? Our mental material is now of the best kind; we can weave any kind of material we want; we can use any color we wish; we know that the texture is firm, that the material is solid, that it will not fade.”

Thought sets neurones in action, making runways through our brain. The stronger and wider the runways, the stronger and more focused the thought. At first we may feel disappointment looking at our fruits in life, but we can only change them to something we like by making stronger runways joining new brain cells, in other words, developing our own habits, by design.

Now concentration is called up to scene, concentrated thought is better than thought alone. Here, most fail a second time, admitting proudly that they have concentration, never willing to explore stronger levels of it. So, let’s concentrate more on the thought we desire.

06-31 “Thought is the process by which we may absorb the Spirit of Power, and hold the result in our inner consciousness until it becomes a part of our ordinary consciousness. The method of accomplishing this result by the persistent practice of a few fundamental principles, as explained in this System, is the master key which unlocks the storehouse of Universal Truth.”

This only activity, inside the human body is developed by millions of hard, dedicated, intelligent workers, the neurones, and they are in direct collaboration with trillions more, the cells of our bodies, so we’re not talking of quite a simple remedy, indeed under this light, this activity looks rather more complex than what the situation was at the beginning.

We could also talk about the fact that so few really dare to take seriously upon the task and actually do it, that we can see the co-relation evidently. Let’s say maybe, for now, but let’s keep on going further still down this stream.

Forms of thought that embody the ideas of courage, power, a noble purpose in action are to us and our reality of equal importance as the perfectly legible blueprints of a building to an architect, and mostly to the crew at the site of construction. All those forms of thought require various ingredients to exist, and constant effort to take root into the subconscious mind to start becoming habitual behaviour.

In possession of these particular ways of thinking we keep finding men of great ideas and influence, we were mentioned Nikola Tesla in Part 7-10, he writes in the Electrical Experimenter. ˜I am enabled to rapidly develop and perfect a conception without touching anything. When I have gone so far as to embody in the invention every possible improvement I can think of, and see no fault anywhere, I put into concrete, the product of my brain. Invariably my devise works as I conceived it should; in twenty years there has not been a single exception.’”

We must recognise that, 07-28 “Thought force is the most powerful means of obtaining knowledge, and if concentrated on any subject will solve the problem. Nothing is beyond the power of human comprehension, but in order to harness thought force and make it do your bidding, work is required.”

07-29 “Remember that thought is the fire that creates the steam that turns the wheel of fortune, upon which your experiences depend.”

This last fact being one of the most difficult ones to overcome for the ordinary man. Either the idea is too big or they just simply don’t remember!

But we better make flawless blueprints, or else, we risk breaking the Law. And I’m talking about a law firmer than the one regulating building permits. 07-12. “The law is that thought will manifest in form, and only one who knows how to be the divine thinker of his own thoughts can ever take a Master’s place and speak with authority.”

Now this only activity is linked with the Law of cause and effect, giving it more weight. But we also can recognise in our own life that thought is the precursor of action, so it makes sense to correlate harmony in thoughts with harmonious results.

Our thought must leave behind any trace of hatred because hating, even the evil or bad or sinful is a destructive thought, producing by the Law, destructive effects.

We can become the guardsmen of our thoughts to get rid of the bad habit of hatred, but this is by definition not an easy task. 08-04 “Mental habits are difficult to control, but it can be done and the way to do it is to begin at once to substitute constructive thought for destructive thought. Form the habit of analyzing every thought. If it is necessary, if its manifestation in the objective will be a benefit, not only to yourself, but to all whom it may affect in any way, keep it; treasure it; it is of value; it is in tune with the Infinite; it will grow and develop and produce fruit a hundred-fold.”

This only activity is also a spiritual function capable for men, hence the urgent call for greater harmony in its quality.

09-27 “Man is the sum total of his own thoughts; so the question is, how are we going to entertain only the good thoughts and reject the evil ones? At first we can’t keep the evil thoughts from coming, but we can keep from entertaining them. The only way to do this is to forget them — which means, get something for them. This is where the ready-made affirmation comes into play.”

“I am Whole, Perfect, Strong, Powerful, Loving, Harmonious and Happy.”

–Frederic Elias Andrews.

This affirmation, aligned to scientific truth, when constantly repeated and firmly believed, serves as an anchor and tool to gradually reverse the effect of negative thoughts in our mind. The effects inside the human device are so astonishing that most call them luck; to the the rest, are miracles. We won’t discuss such effects, that’s another topic on itself, let’s just keep exploring and soaking in on the banks of the idea of this one great unifying activity we seem to share in common with Universal Mind.

09-28 “When a thought of anger, jealousy, fear or worry creeps in, just start your affirmation going. The way to fight darkness is with light — the way to fight cold is with heat — the way to overcome evil is with good.”

09-30 “If our predominant mental attitude is one of power, courage, kindliness and sympathy, we shall find that our environment will reflect conditions in correspondence with these thoughts; if it is weak, critical, envious and destructive, we shall find our environment reflecting conditions corresponding to these thoughts.”

So it all links back perfectly to the Law of cause and effect, as above so below, as the inside so the outside, everything constantly vibrates in harmony into this never ending perfect dance. Men must not doubt that this is true, and fully reclaim faith.

All we are doing is aligning to the Law.

10-11 “This is the law by which, and through which all things come into manifestation; it is the Master Key by which you are admitted into the Secret Place of the Most High and are ‘given dominion over all things.’ With an understanding of this law you may ‘decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee.’”

10-21. “Constructive thought must necessarily be creative, but creative thought must be harmonious, and this eliminates all destructive or competitive thought.”

Let’s keep in mind all these qualities can be attributed both to men and the Universal Mind, we’ve found we’re one and the same.

And we can now rest upon the idea that thought indeed is All There Is, was and ever could be. It is through thought that we reach any desired outcome, the thought of the object precedes the obtention. Thought has enabled human race to achieve wonders over and far above Earth’s surface and we can be sure there will be many more, because men are thinking today the realities of tomorrow. It is through thought that every human epoch has survived until these days, and despite the fatalists, we can count on the race as a whole to keep moving forward. Thought has made us what we are and will keep doing so regardless, so this is a time to observe with guardsman eyes the thoughts we entertain.

12-22 “Educated desire is the most potent means of bringing into action the law of attraction.”

Do it now, with full intention.

12-25 “The intention governs the attention. Power comes through repose. It is by concentration that deep thoughts, wise speech, and all forces of high potentiality are accomplished.”

Everyone of us can do it, warranted, we’re all built the same, the rest is just beliefs, we all have 12-09 “the power to adjust (…) to Divine and unchangeable principles.”

Reclaiming faith is of crucial importance to our thoughts, because it relates to the quality of our actions as well. Faithful actions are easy to tell from unfaithful ones, in us and those around us. Placing a link once more with spirituality.

14-16 “All things have their origin in mind, and appearances are the result of thought. So that we see that things in themselves have no origin, permanency, or reality. Since they are produced by thought, they can be erased by thought.”

Now, dear reader, prepare for these questions:

14-22. “Do you, can you, appreciate the value of this all-important fact; do you realize that a recognition of this tremendous fact places you in touch with Omnipotence? The subconscious mind being the connecting link between the Universal Mind and the conscious mind, is it not evident that the conscious mind can consciously suggest thoughts which the subconscious mind will put into action, and as the subconscious is one with the Universal, is it not evident that no limit can be placed upon its activities?”

And now for a revelation:

14-25. “Thought is the only reality; conditions are but the outward manifestations; as the thought changes, all outward or material conditions must change in order to be in harmony with their creator, which is thought.”

15-13 “Thought may lead to action of any kind, but whatever the action, it is simply the thought attempting to express itself in visible form. It is evident, therefore, that if we wish desirable conditions, we can afford to entertain only desirable thoughts.”

15-14 “This leads to the inevitable conclusion that if we wish to express abundance in our lives, we can afford to think abundance only, and as words are only thoughts taking form, we must be especially careful to use nothing but constructive and harmonious language, which when finally crystallized into objective forms, will prove to our advantage.”

Clarity in thought is accompanied with clarity in words. Clarity in words comes with better communication with Universal Mind and better communication will always lead to faster growth and bigger outputs. This is undoubtedly great news!

Thought alone is that powerful, but it still can grow stronger. Whenever we add a feeling to our thoughts we are supercharging them with energy to perform deeper grooves on our minds, and when we choose Love as the feeling, the mixture cannot be more powerful. We come in contact with the law of Attraction, we have induced harmony into two extreme forces that have a specific vibration, making us highly attractive, and the things we think about, effortlessly occur. We know that state, we’ve experienced many times, athletes, painters, actors, singers, performers, even gamblers, know it as “the flow.” We’ve all been so into our thoughts that everything around happened in automatic, for periods of time, tunnel vision, acute focus, perfect motion control, the works! That’s the dance of thought and love in action! Our true divine nature!!

Once we acknowledge that concept, we have developed insight. The insight of foreseeing conditions based upon effects. We have gained another level of consciousness and we begin to see the invisible now, the fuzzy gets focus, the unimportant becomes important, we see things differently and they start to look different.

16-10 “…we shall come into a realization of the tremendous fact that no arbitrary condition can exist for a moment, and that human experience is the result of an orderly.”

16-17 “Therefore, to control thought is to control circumstances, conditions, environment, and destiny.” But there is also the particular expression of thought itself, its forms, quality and vitality.”

16-19 “The form will depend upon the mental images from which it emanates; this will depend upon the depth of the impression, the predominance of the idea, the clarity of the vision, the boldness of the image.”

16-20 “The quality depends upon its substance, and this depends upon the material of which the mind is composed; if this material has been woven from thoughts of vigor, strength, courage, determination, the thought will possess these qualities.”

16-21 “And finally, the vitality depends upon the feeling with which the thought is impregnated. If the thought is constructive, it will possess vitality; it will have life, it will grow, develop, expand, it will be creative; it will attract to itself everything necessary for its complete development.”

So now we understand the childish lie of good versus evil. Not that they don’t exist, but rather they’re only the labels assigned to both ends of the spectrum our manifested outcomes have, after following the natural path the originating thought started with.

16-28 “If you desire to visualize a different environment, the process is simply to hold the ideal in mind, until your vision has been made real; give no thought to persons, places or things; these have no place in the absolute; the environment you desire will contain everything necessary; the right persons, and the right things will come at the right time and in the right place.”

Our thoughts vibrate in resonance with the Mind and our concentrated thoughts vibrate at higher rates, making it possible to intersect the frequency of Universal Truth more times in more points along the wave. Placing us more in touch with the energy the Mind wants to activate through us.

Truth and Thought
Notice how a low frequency thought has no chance of reaching Truth, while a high frequency one has the chance to intersect it in several points. Pure physics, amigos. 😉

18-13 “The individual is simply the means by which the Universal produces the various combinations that give rise to the formation of phenomena, which depends on the law of vibration, by which different speeds of movement in the primary substance form new substances only in certain exact numerical proportions.”

18-14 “Thought is the invisible link through which the individual enter into communication with the Universal, the finite with the Infinite, the seen with the Invisible. The thought is the magic by which the human being is transformed into a being that thinks and knows, that feels and acts.”

The correlation between affluence inside and outside has been confirmed. And we’re taught that the real fountain of abundance we have inside is our power to produce. We are to align our hearts with our brains and we become unstoppable givers of well thought actions, stumbling with endless successes; and the more we give, the more we shall receive.

How are we to confirm this is true, you may ask? Try this considerations,  19-17 “…if your thought is powerful, constructive, and positive, this will be plainly evident in the state of your health, your business and your environment; if your thought is weak, critical, destructive and negative generally, it will manifest in your body as fear, worry and nervousness, in your finance as lack and limitation, and in discordant conditions in your environment.”

20-28 “You may use thought constructively or destructively, but the immutable law will not allow you to plant a thought of one kind and reap the fruit of another. You are free to use this marvelous creative power as you will, but you must take the consequences.”

And now come into realization of the morality which Universal Mind implies for us to obtain positive and constructive outputs into our lives. It is within us, literally!

20-08 “When you begin to perceive that the essence of the Universal is within yourself — is you — you begin to do things; you begin to feel your power; it is the fuel which fires the imagination; which lights the torch of inspiration; which gives vitality to thought; which enables you to connect with all the invisible forces of the Universe. It is this power which will enable you to plan fearlessly, to execute masterfully.”

20-13 “This power of thought, if understood and correctly used, is the greatest labor-saving device ever dreamed of, (…) by the help of this power you can confidently undertake things that are seemingly impossible, because this power is the secret of all inspiration, all genius.”

20-17 “An understanding of these facts, first intellectually and then emotionally, will enable us to drink deeply from this ocean of infinite power. An intellectual understanding will be of no assistance; the emotions must be brought into action; thought without feeling is cold. The required combination is thought and feeling.”

21-09. “In this way conditions are produced and we find that our lives are simply the reflection of our predominant thoughts, our mental attitude; we see then that the science of correct thinking is the one science, that it includes all other sciences.”

To come in contact with these kinds of thought vibrations we require concentration through silence and solitude, that way we tune our antenna in sync with the Universal.

21-28 “Silent thought concentration is therefore the true method of reaching, awakening, and then expressing the wonderful potential power of the world within.”

Sadly, some people are still unaware of this crucial fact of life and of those who are aware of it, few really devote their time, effort and concentration to the development and exploration of their innate, divine capabilities. The majority, just discard this idea as fantastic magic or childish trickery; sad but true.

We can now compare our thoughts with seeds. We plant good seeds, take care of them and what do we expect to have? Good fruits. We plant bad seeds, see them grow and now we have bad fruits, or even poison ivy! Heavy focus must be placed in the quality of our thoughts and also, in always being on the look for bad seeds which could yield unproductive and possibly harmful results.

22-06 “Everything in the Universe is what it is by virtue of its rate of vibration. Change the rate of vibration and you change the nature, quality and form. The vast panorama of nature, both visible and invisible, is being constantly changed by simply changing the rate of vibration, and as thought is a vibration we can also exercise this power. We can change the vibration and thus produce any condition which we desire to manifest in our bodies.”

23-10 “The power of attention is called concentration; this power is directed by the will; for this reason we must refuse to concentrate or think of anything except the things we desire. Many are constantly concentrating upon sorrow, loss and discord of every kind; as thought is creative it necessarily follows that this concentration inevitably leads to more loss, more sorrow and more discord. How could it be otherwise? On the other hand, when we meet with success, gain, or any other desirable condition, we naturally concentrate upon the effects of these things and thereby create more, and so it follows that much leads to more.”

24-15 “…your entire mental work consists in coming into an understanding of the Truth. This will enable you to overcome every form of lack, limitation or disease of any kind.”

24-25 “As thought is creative, and the truth is the highest and most perfect thought which anyone can think, it is self-evident that to think the truth is to create that which is true and it is again evident that when truth comes into being that which is false must cease to be.”

24-29 “Now, the only activity which the spirit possesses is the power to think. Therefore, thought must be creative, because spirit is creative. This creative power is impersonal and your ability to think is your ability to control it and make use of it for the benefit of yourself and others.”

At this point there is no question for the dedicated student of the Truth. We communicate with, and the Universal Mind communicates with us using the mechanism of thought. We’ve uncovered different qualities our thought patterns may have and how they are related to the Truth. How we can sculpt conditions out of our mental workings and how our lives may respond in direct correlation to them, sometimes with very few time in between.

We also have come to the realisation of the fact that we can become one with the Mind when we allow ourselves to think its thoughts. We become one with the Universe when we allow ourselves to act the way the Mind thinks through us. That’s how we get influenced by it, and in turn, how we can influence it.

We must now open our thoughts to inspiration from imagination and welcome it with enthusiasm, for it is what signals that our device works and is tuned to the Mind’s frequency. Not only that, but it also bathes our visions with clarity! Like the great Tesla proved time and time again. And we can be sure that mankind will keep producing geniuses such as great as him, if not greater, because man is part of life and life’s purpose is to grow. But the ones who grow are the ones that decide and make their business to think below the surface, and to be the ultimate master of all that thinking potential that Universal Mind is able to provide for us.

Kind reader, the next delivery in this four chapter journey will bring us to a life or death crossroad. On the third chapter, we will face “The Only Obstacle.”

Stay tuned.

For me the above sentence you wrote embodies the flow of life…quality of sculpture (extremely picturesque). Thank you once more for another exceptional blog!
